Induction heating: 
1) The coil should be coupled to the part as closely as feasible for maximum energy transfer. It is desirable that the largest possible number of magnetic flux lines intersect the workpiece at the area to be heated. The denser the flux at this point, the higher will be the current generated in the part. 
2) The greatest number of flux lines in a solenoid coil are toward the center of the coil. The flux lines are concentrated
Inside the coil, providing the maximum heating rate there. 
3) Because the flux is most concentrated close to the coil turns themselves and decreases farther from them, the geometric center of the coil is a weak flux path. 
Thus, if a part were to be placed off center in a coil, the area closer to the coil turns would intersect a greater number of flux lines and would therefore be heated at a higher rate, whereas the area of the Part with less coupling would be heated at a lower rate; The resulting pattern is shown schematically in Fig. 


2. This effect is more pronounced in high-frequency induction heating. 


3. Design & Making of Induction Coil
The heating effect of workpiece not only depends on the operating current of induction coil but also relates to the shape, number of turns and the length of leading-out copper tube as well as workpiece material and shape, etc. factors directly. For making full use of the power of equipment, it is critical to design the induction coil rationally. The followings are the making methods of induction coil in common models. For the much bigger or tailor-made induction coil required by the workpiece to heat, the making methods are provided by the manufacturer separately. 
1) The shape of induction coil should be determined according to the shape of workpiece's part to heat, which making principle is: it must keep copper tube of induction part parallel or isometric with the surface of workpiece to heat. Also the current flow direction of adjacent circles should be the same.
2) The number of turns of induction coil is usually more than two.
3) The adjusting gap between the induction coil and workpiece shall be controlled at 1-10mm. In the case of no effect on operation, the smaller the gap is, the better it is.
4) In the case of no effect on operation, the shorter the leading-out length of induction coil is, the better it is, which is usually not more than 400mm.
5) Winding of the induction coil head:
Use red copper tube as material with a outside diameter of 4-6mm (1mm wall thickness is optimum).
Anneal the copper tube first.
In accordance with the designed shape of induction coil, bend and hammer it to the shape gradually. It is better use wood hammer to beat it and beat slowly at the corner, don't beat violently to avoid a solid corner which may block the water way. Do not nip it into burrs with pincers to avoid striking sparks on tips. After corner making finishes, expand the two copper nozzles and check if they are open.
For the purpose of avoiding sparks striking occurs between two circles or the induction coil and workpiece, cover with or wind with high-temperature resistant insulation materials (such as silica gel tube, asbestos product and fireproof clay, etc.)
 6) Making of two leading-out copper tubes:
Use red copper tube with wall thickness1-1.2mm and outside diameter of 8-12mm as materials (the outside diameter of the copper tube should match the screw neck and nut at the joint of the induction coil). 
Cut out a proper length with one end expanded and the other expanded into bell shape with a tube expander.
Polish the part of the finished induction coil and two leading-out copper tubes to weld with a sand paper. Then solder them (with a soldering iron of at least 15 KW is recommended) with smooth soldered dots and without any sand hole. Special attention shall be paid to that it must do not block the nozzle when soldering.
Heating of the inner hold, plane, parts and places with special shape of the workpiece. For  improving the circle effect of the magnetic field and urge the current to approach the parts to heat, we often adopt the induction oil with magnetizer added inside, which can greatly improve the heating speed.
